Sweep talk her

Sidewalk sweeper Mick,is in his 70s and happily married. Sidewalk vendor Rachel, is in her 50s and happily married also. Nevertheless, it seams no one can expostulate with him about the futility of charming her each week. She revels in the attention; simply can't get enough. Intensely amused Chuck, Rachel's assistant, can't get enough of the flirtatious espièglerie.

Chuck:(chuckles at sight of Mick sweeping sidewalk two stalls away)

Your admirer is coming

RACHEL:(smiles sheepishly)

I know. It's a good thing I bought some milk at the shop this morning.

Chuck:

....planning to make him his usual cup of tea?

 RACHEL:

 Of course

 Chuck:

As usual, that will make his day SHE SMILES

Chuck:(teases) I think we'll do better business on the sidewalk if we stop promoting New car deals and euromillions and start a dating service

RACHEL:(sarcasm)

Ha ha Ha..Very funny!

JAKE POURS THE RUBBISH INTO HIS LITTEL CART AND LEANS THE BROOM AGAINST THE SIDEWALK BENCH

 JAKE:

Morning all! (tipped his hat to Rachel) Morning Rachel

Chuck:(wide grin on his face)

 Morning

 RACHEL:

Good morning Mick

Jake:

Your looking lovely today, as usual

 RACHEL:

Thank you....Would you like a cup of tea?

Jake:(takes her hands and peer in her eyes)

ONLY if it's made by YOU

 RACHEL:

 Of course.

Chuck grins widely.

RACHEL brings a chair for Jake to sit on while tea.

 Jake:

This is my favourite stall on the sidewalk.....(to Rachel) especially when YOU are here

Customers smile in bafflement, Chuck laughs out loudly

 Chuck:

That's a classic, no wonder you ALWAYS sweep this area much cleaner

 Jake:

..How many of you are working today?

RACHEL:

Three of us working today

Chuck:(playfully)

Of course, Rachel is one in a million

JAKE:(hands 3 different fruits to Rachel)

She is TWO in a million

Rachel giggles.

 CHUCK:(cackles)

 I stand corrected

Rachel brings the tea and some cakes she made at home to Jake.

Mick:(pointing on the Miss World Canada on the cover of OK magazine. She is stunning

RACHEL: She is

 Mick:(beams)

NOt as stunning as you though. Did ANYONE tell you this morning how BEAUTIFUL you are?

 Rachel:(smiles broadly)

 Not really

 Mick: Well,

CHuck kneels behind the stall and attempts to stifle his guffaw.

CHUCK:(whispers conspiratorily to Mick while Rachel serves customer)

You should ask her out

 MICK:(peers philosophically down the sidewalk)

 Leave it to me son

CHUCK serves customer but keeps eyes and ears on the lovebirds. He chuckles when they did their usual good bye hugs

 Rachel:

 Oh, this feels so nice

 AFTER Mick left.

 Chuck:

 Did he ask you out?

 Rachel:

No

Chuck:

Ahhh! He got cold feet...Would you have said yes?

Rachel:

No. He has a wife, and I have a husband, so I would have to decline

 Chuck:

That would break his heart. You could at least take A chance on him.

Rachel:

 He's very sweet but no.

Chuck:

I like him a lot as well. You can tell he was a charmer when he was a young man. I wish he was my grand father

Rachel:

he makes me feel so special each week, I often wonder how can I repay him

Chuck:

 Buy him a birthday gift.

Rachel:

I bought him a xmas card last year....

Chuck: I wonder if he shows it to his wife. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cheap laptops on sale

The sidewalk sale is on. All the vendors, except Emily, are doing good business. She looks thwarted. Her business partner Peter arrives. His presence makes her field even worse. Emily's dog Lenny, re-assures her by planting itself between the two.

Hogan:

Cheap laptops on sale today! Cheap laptops.....

ARGUMENT ENSUES BETWEEN EMILY AND PETER

Emily:

I don't see the point in carrying on this partnership. You spend most time with your friends while I stay here and do all the work. When I call you, you say you don't like speaking on the phone and cut the call short. But when You're here, you have endless telephone calls...

St. Clement: (shouts)

New car deals, All inclusive holidays....

Peter:

You just don't understand me. I told you I'm having problems with some business deals, so I just want to be myself..

LENNY:(barks)

Listen pal, I'm not taking sides, and I hate to interrupt, but even though you buy my food each week, I have to say that you are treating Emily like the enemy. Why are you being so hostile to her. You are in a partnership so you can't just shut her out like that. She's your friend pal, NOT THE ENEMY

TEARS STREAMS DOWN EMILY'S FACE

Peter:

She just want to talk about nonsense...In the past we both make mistakes in the partnership, but the parftnership is still going strong

Emily:

So when I ask you what about the problems with the business deals, that is NONSENSE. And what partnership are you talking about? We haven't had a meeting in two months. TWO MONTHS. You are always too busy

LENNY:

Partnership going strong eh! Sounds like the partnership is dying pal. DEAD. (points at Peter) And it's your fault. You need to STOP thinking that you are alone in business, and START thinking about the partnership and your partner...

Emily:

So selfish

Lenny:

I agree with her pal. Stop buying me food if you want. If you care about your partner and the partnership, you should assess your attitude to both, and see where you can improve. LOTS OF ROOM for improvement.

Peter: (to Emily)

What am I doing wrong? What do you want me to do

EMILY SHAKES HER HEAD IN FRUSTRATION, WALKS AWAY

Peter:

Don't leave..talk to me..PLEASE!

LENNY:

I'm leaving as well. YOU ARE NOT ACTING RIGHT PAL. You are the type of person whose gonna learn your lesson when it is too late. Look at yourself, Look at your situation,if you are reasonable, you will agree that your attitude STINKS.

PETER:

bUT, BUT...

LENNY:

BUT NOTHING...You act as if EVERYTHING is going well for you but she is just a little annoyance when the truth is NOTHING is going well for you, EXCEPT HER AND THE PARTNERSHIP. The truth is YOU NEED HER MORE THAN SHE NEEDS YOU....

PETER:

Excuse me...

LENNY:

If it was not for her, this business would be performing as badly as it doing today. She sets up the stall by herself everyday, does most of the work. I have nothing else to say...(storms off) Don't forget its her family who pay the rent for the stall. I'M OFF! (chases Emily)

St. Clement:

....Sales. Clearing debt...

Child's Play on the sidewalk

Today, your obstreperous sidewalk Presenter is, ME, Mueller...These pedestrians are ruminating on some of the things that annoys them on the sidewalk; leaflets about Unlimited broadband, New car deals, Cheap holidays and the chatter of kids playing hopscotch, riding bikes and playing other games along the sidewalk. Today, we will feature a motorist who hates it when pedestrians get in the way when he drives on the sidewalk. IT DRIVES HIM INSANE...

Houghton:

Will these shoes fit my 8 year daughter?

Nintendo 3DS VENDOR, bob costas:

It's for an adult, so I don't think so.

Houghton:

Try on this pair of shoes Adele

CHILD

It's a size 14, I am a size 4

Houghton(shouts)

TRY IT ON!

Child Pat Sharp:

NO!

Houghton:

Don't you like it?

CHILD

Yes. But it's too big for me. ARGH!

PAT SEES HER FRIENDS HAVING A GOOD TIME ON THE SIDEWALK, RUNS AND JOIN THEM.

Houghton:

She had a long day at church, I thought she would be very tired. So I'm surprised she prefers to run off with her friends ON THE SIDEWALK instead of coming STRAIGHT home with me. UGH!

JOGGER Kimono

LEAVE THEM ALONE. Obviously, they are just making the most of their last day of freedom and safety on the sidewalk

matt schaub

What do you mean?

Fedotowsky, a well-known sidewalk vendor, urinates in the middle of the sidewalk. He is interuppted by the noise from the approaching children. He chuckles as the steam from the urine rises into the air. His dog watches closely, so are motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and other vendors.

DRIVER, Peterson, IN PARKED CAR:

The sidewalk would be lifeless without these blessed kids? Bless them

matt schaub:

Ahhhh!

Fedotowsky quickly zips his trousers and hurrys away before the children sees him. Rodriguez and all the other pedestrians burst into a raucous laughter.

LATER

CHILD, Stallone WALKS INTO CYCLIST Stacy Keibler 's PATH

Stacy Keibler: The sun is going down, why are these kids on the sidewalk so LATE. UGH! GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY. DON'T THEY HAVE iPad 3 or Contract phones TO GO HOME AND PLAY WITH?

matt schaub

uppity: I don't know. ASK Megyn. I'm just the Presenter. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BE LOOKING OUT FOR KIDS WHEN YOU CYCLE ON THE SIDEWALK....I got here a few minutes ago. Do you know why one of your fellow pedestrians said that the children are making the most of their last day of safety and freedom on the sidewalk?

megyn:

Maybe too many adults will on the sidewalk during thanksgiving. I DON'T KNOW. Ask one of the other pedestrians. UGH!

PEDESTRIANS SHRUGS

Kid:

Will you spray paint me? Please

Stacy Keibler:

No. Go home! Your parents probably wondering where you are

CHILD:

Please! Our parents know where we are

Stacy Keibler:

I don't know how to spray paint. Ask your parent

A kit kat falls from one of the children. Stacy Keibler
sees, picks it up and devours it before its rightful owner ask any question.

Some children are using BlackBerry phones to recreate the routines in Beyonce dance for you video, whereas, others are writing their names on the sidewalk with bits of paper. They are worried the wind will blow it away, but it passes without harm.

They clap and cheer.

MATT

However, they are not so lucky when Stacy Keibler
notices what they are doing.

Stacy Keibler: (screams)

GO AWAY!

Stacy Keibler brushes away all the bits of paper.

MATT

Where is this person's sense of humour?

PEDESTRIAN gabby giffords

Leave them kids alone! YOU A TEACHER OR SOMETHING? Why do you target them?

Stacy Keibler

NO! They are taking up the WHOLE sidewalk, creating a nuisance and defacing the sidewalk, ride their bikes, making noises

PEDESTRIAN gabby giffords

I am so perplexed why you, of all people, can be so inconsiderate towards these kids who are only trying to enjoy themselves one last time.

Stacy Keibler:

Pass me my Raincoats. I DON'T WISH SPEAK TO YOU. UGH!

MATT

Will someone PLEASE tell me what the HELL IS GOING ON? aRE THESE KIDS TERMINAL OR WHAT?

Stacy Keibler:

I think she is terminal, not the kids. NOT ME

PEDESTRIAN gabby giffords:

Heard your grand dad will be driving his car again starting TOMORROW. No wonder the kids are terrified of walking on the sidewalk EVER again. Both you and him are terminal

Stacy Keibler:

If the kids play on the sidewalk and refrain from wandering in the road, they should be fine. You said so yourself, so there is no need to tergiversate now. The kids have no reasons to be scared of Grand dad

PEDESTRIAN gabby giffords

EXCUSE ME. they have every reason to be scared of him. HE FINDS IT HARD TO KEEP OFF THE SIDEWALK WHEN HE DRIVES

MATT

Oh!

A CHILD SCREAMS FURTHER DOWN THE SIDEWALK

Stacy Keibler:

There’s a WOMAN dragging her child by an ear down the sidewalk why don’t you say something to her. That child is in danger

PEDESTRIAN gabby giffords

If she wants a child without an ear, that’s her business
